Basel HaleNORTH WEBSTER – Basel Hale, 72, of Pierceton, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at his home. He was born on Feb. 21, 1949, in Breathitt County, Ky., to Forest and Eva L. Lovely Hale.
He attended public schools in Kentucky and moved to the Pierceton/Larwill area in the mid 1960s from Kentucky. He was married on March 31, 1970, in Pierceton, to Evalee Mullins, who preceded him on April 29, 2015. He was a self-employed truck driver, computer technician, certified welder and surgical instrument repairman.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Pierceton.
He is survived by two sons: Basel Junior (Michele) Hale, of Ozark, Mo.; and Forest James Hale, of Pierceton; eight grandchildren: Kegan, Kameron, Aiden, Andrew, Kayla, Ashley, Samantha and Sarah; two great-grandchildren: Aylah and Carter; sister, Cynthia Salyers, of Argos.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Roger Lee Hale; two sisters: Ruth Hale and Ruby Thomas; and two brothers: Sam Wierman and Willard Miller.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 26 at Free United Baptist Church, 7035 S. Ind. 13, Pierceton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27 in the church with Pastor Etsie Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
