Barn Fire Sunday Results In Loss Of Poultry, PropertySYRACUSE – A Sunday morning barn fire resulted in the loss of more than 50 animals.
Turkey Creek Fire Territory Chief Mickey Scott said a call came in at 8:18 a.m. Sunday to a barn fire at 4445 E. CR 1200N, Syracuse.
The barn is owned by Larry Rosenberry who had 50 to 60 chickens, chicks, ducks and turkeys inside, along with lawn mowers and some furniture, Scott said.
“All of the ones (animals) inside died,” Scott said. “It’s a total loss for the barn.”
Scott said the cause of the fire is unknown at this point, and due to the damage to the barn, they may never know.
“We don’t believe it’s intentional or anything,” Scott added.
Turkey Creek Fire Territory was assisted at the scene by North Webster, Milford and Benton Township fire departments.
The fire was under control within a half hour and crews cleared the scene around 10:30 a.m.
