WABASH - WWKI and the Honeywell Center's Educational Outreach Program will host country music singer-songwriter Aaron Barker & Friends to the Ford Theater stage Friday at 7:30 p.m.Barker is a Grammy Award-winning artist who will return to Wabash for his fourth year with the Educational Outreach Program. His experience in songwriting is vast, having written music for the likes of George Strait, Lonestar, Willie Nelson, Clay Walker and Tracy Lawrence. Throughout his stay, Barker will participate in the outreach program's in-school residencies, where he works with high school music students on the art of songwriting in their classrooms.
Tickets to the show Friday at the Honeywell Center are $5 for adults and free for youth through high school. They can be purchased at the center's box office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by calling 260-563-1102. Tickets also may be purchased at www.honeywellcenter.org
Barker's Ford Theater performance - which also will welcome Richie McDonald (former lead singer of Lonestar) - involves an informal discussion on songs, playing music and audience interaction.
