The Barbee Lakes Conservation District is still looking at options for a solution to its sewer problem.
In keeping with the promise to look at all the options, the board asked Poggemeyer Design Group, Industrial Fluid Management, and Phillip L. Schnelker Inc. what they could do for the BLCD.
Some of the featured systems the organizations described included lagoon, grinder and vacuum systems.
Scott Fox, secretary of the BLCD, said the benefits for the lagoon system include no chemical dumping into the rivers, less upkeep on the system, and a smaller management team.
The PDG outlined their course of action if the BLCD chose to hire them.
They said their first action would be an initial meeting followed by data collecting and a review of previous work.
They would then identify the issues that faced the BLCD and develop alternatives and recommend financing plans.
After the final plan is approved they will implement the plan and construct the facility.
BLCD also is looking for a new bank.
Lake City Bank was being considered but members of the audience asked that they investigate Farmers State Bank.
A letter from Bonar Engineering informed the BLCD that its proposal for privatization was withdrawn.
The withdrawal occurred after the BLCD indicated its desire to look into other privatization companies.
