LIGONIER - Barbara Sue Wolf Hoover, 80, of Albion, and formerly of Ligonier, died at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 23, 2011, in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville, following an extended illness.
She was born April 11, 1930, in Noble County, Sparta Township, to Charles L. and Josephine Needles Archer. She married Marion M. Wolf, who died in 1984. She then married Wallie Hoover Jr., who died in 1994.
A lifelong area resident, she was a homemaker and worked as a waitress at M&M Restaurant, North Webster, and as a retail clerk at Fisher Pharmacy, Kendallville. She graduated from Cromwell High School in 1948, was a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, Avilla; Cromwell Lutheran Church; Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years; and the American Legion Auxiliary of Ligonier 243.
Surviving are five children: Eric (and spouse Barbara E.) Wolf, LaOtto; Scot (and spouse Jana) Wolf, Syracuse; Bret (and spouse Sue) Wolf, Warsaw; Brenda (and spouse Donald) Patrick, Ligonier; and Brad Wolf, Avon; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Smith, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Carol; a great-granddaughter, Marissa Marie Squadrito; a brother, F. Wayne Archer; and a sister, Iris Goshorn.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S.; Ligonier, with Pastor Phyllis Smoot officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
