SYRACUSE - Barbara Jean "Barb" Young, 65, of Greenhaus Apartments, Syracuse, died at 9:35 a.m. Nov. 9, 2007, at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
She was born Aug. 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Eugene and Elizabeth Budnic Beck. In 1981, she married William "Bill" Young, who died in 1983.
She attended North Side High School in Fort Wayne and graduated from Comstock High School in Comstock, Mich. She was a homemaker and former waitress. She moved to Syracuse about 10 years ago from Ossian. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 223 and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary Post 1342, both in Syracuse.
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly (and spouse Richard) Malikowski, Syracuse; two sons, Randy (and spouse Melissa) Campbell, Ossian, and Keith Campbell, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and a brother, James Beck, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents.
No visitation or services are planned. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
