ROCHESTER – Barbara Elaine Grance Swanson, 78, of 5275 E. Brown Road, Leesburg, died Dec. 15, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Detroit, Mich. On June 10, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, she married Lynden E. Swanson Sr., who died July 9, 1974. As a homemaker, she loved to do things for her family. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed watching thriller and detective shows on TV. She also was an avid reader. She liked sweets, ice cream and chocolate were her favorite snacks. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (and spouse Edwin) Reeves, Leesburg, and Judy (and spouse Loren) Lowe, Talma; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Swanson; a son, Lynden E. Swanson Jr.; two granddaughters, Wendy and Cendy Reeves; and a grandson, Billy Joe Swanson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Pastor Dan Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Athens Hoover Cemetery.
