Barbara Ann Maher, 62, of Kokomo, died at 8 a.m. Aug. 9, 2009, in her residence.
She was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Woodstock, Ill., to Leo and Margaret "Peg" Kerber. In 1967, she married Darwin Call. She later moved to Kokomo and married Tom Maher in 1977, where she happily lived out her days.
She was a 1965 graduate of Warsaw High School and had a successful career as a makeup consultant that gave her great joy. Later in her life, her focus became her grandkids. She spent as much time as she could with them while also fighting breast cancer.
Also surviving are her father, Leo (and spouse Lynn) Kerber, Leesburg; a brother, Lee Kerber, Warsaw; two daughters, Christi Milliken, Indianapolis, and Kathy McCoy, Carmel; and four grandchildren, Rylie Cannon and Olivia, Sophia and Nathaniel McCoy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret "Peg" Kerber.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. At 8 p.m., her father will lead a time of celebration and shared memories. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow the service.
