She was born on Jan. 21, 1943, in Seymour, to Albert and Enola Burbrink Rebber.

Barb grew up in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in 1961.   She met her husband Jerry while attending Indiana University (Bloomington).  They married on Sept. 5, 1964. Barb graduated from IU in 1969. After living in the Chicago area and Michigan, she moved to the North Webster area, where she lived for the past 30 years. She was a wife, mother and grandmother.  Locally, most remember her as one of the founders and former executive director of the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center (S.P.E.C.) in North Webster, retiring after 17 years.

Barb’s faith was very important to her. She was a member of the Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church in Syracuse. She truly loved flowers and antiques, enjoyed traveling, listening and talking to her grandson, IU basketball and drinking Dr. Pepper. She was an avid reader and supporter of the North Webster Community Library.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Hetrick, of North Webster; her daughter, Jill (Kevin) Hartnett, of Dove Canyon, Calif.; son, Scott Hetrick, of North Webster; grandson, Sean Hartnett, of Dove Canyon, Calif.; sister, Marilyn Watkins, of Omaha, Neb.; and brother, Roland (Dee) Rebber, of Seymour. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melissa Hetrick; sisters: Dorothy “Dot” Luker and Maxine Hischke; and brother, Charles Rebber.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 3 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, and from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5 at Voss & Sons Funeral Home, 316 N. Chestnut St., Seymour. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5 at Voss & Sons. A private family burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.
