FORT WAYNE – Among 400 likely 3rd district Republican primary voters, Jim Banks has a slight lead over his nearest competitor, Kip Tom, in a recent poll released Monday. The poll from the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics, Fort Wayne, shows that Banks (29.3 percent) has a 6-point lead over Tom (23.3 percent) and a 7.5 point lead over Liz Brown (21.8 percent) in a poll with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 points. The press release from the Center states, “The fact that 20 percent of the respondents were undecided demonstrates that this race is not decided.” The other Republican candidates were Mark Baringer at 0.5 percent; Pam Galloway, 4.8 percent; and Kevin Howell, 0.5 percent.
