GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Warsaw Community High School alum Lindsay Baker and her Grand Valley State University teammates will take on No. 19 Pittsburg State (Kan.) in the NCAA Division II Tournament Elite Eight in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Tuesday. Baker, a junior, has been one of the top three-point shooters for the Lakers this season and one of the best in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. She hit 45.1 percent of her shots from beynd the arc, good for second in the conference and is just one trifecta shy of the GLIAC lead in made triples with 74 on the season. The former Lady Tiger now owns the school record for three-pointers made in a season and at her current rate Baker would have the second-best three-point shooting percentage in GVSU program history. Baker averages 7.3 points in 12 minutes per contest. Baker’s last season in a Lady Tiger uniform was 2013, when Warsaw went 24-2 and won a regional championship. She originally signed with and played for the University of Toledo before transferring to Grand Valley State, who seeks to advance to the D-II Final Four for the first time since winning the national championship in 2006.
