Walter "John" and Julia Baker are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
On May 28, 1960, they were married by Wynn Olsen.
Join their children, Debora Baker, Fort Wayne; LouAnn (and spouse Del) Acton, Milford; Dawn (and spouse Robert) Gunter, Palestine; and Matthew (and spouse Heidi) Baker, Mentone, and their 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild, as they host an open house at First Baptist Church of Mentone Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. to honor W. John and Julia.
W. John worked nearly 40 years at R.R. Donnelley, retiring in 1999. W. John, an avid bow hunter as well as deacon of FBC, and Julia, a sensible shopper as well as a heartwarming cook, together enjoy spending time with family and friends, enjoy time in South Texas, are members of First Baptist Church and rarely miss an episode of "Wheel of Fortune."
