Bailey Moore

Posted

LEESBURG - Bailey Moore, 14, Leesburg, died late March 3, 2011, in her family home.

She was born to Mark and Julia Moore.

Vivacious from birth, Bailey had a thirst for life like no other. She was always on the run, whether it be riding her bike outside, laying out by the pool or playing soccer for the Warsaw Wave travel soccer team. Even as busy as her schedule was, Bailey always made time for homework and afterschool activities at Edgewood Middle School.

After being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in July 2010, she became a role model for newly diagnosed children with leukemia. While at the Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, she developed a close relationship with her doctor, Jodi Skiles, and all of her special nurses. She showed great bravery and courage throughout her treatment right until the very end.

Surviving are her mother, Julia Moore; her father, Mark Moore; two sisters, Jaime (and spouse Brandon) Costilow, and Taylor Moore; maternal grandmother, Mary Lu Hall; paternal grandfather, Herman Moore; family friend, Doug Brovont; and her faithful dogs, Lucy and Sprite aka Beagle.

Service will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, with Pastor Eric Ohman officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.

Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
