Bad Roads

Editor, Times-Union:

To the gentlemen who wrote in about our roads, I'm with him. I can sympathize with the highway department, that they are understaffed and no money, but ... our tax dollars! Are they at work? Where?

For me the No. 1 road is 350E. I am amazed that we are the capital of orthopedics, and the road that goes to our airport has so many holes and bumps, what does that say to our visitors?

And, of course, Center Street. When a new hole has to be made, don't the repair men take lessons on smoothly repairing the street? I think they see how rough they can make it. The last two holes even just had stones left, which chips your car's paint. The bumpier the better, I guess.

And on the other hand, the shopping centers. Oh my. I don't know who's responsible, renters or owners. Shopping is like an obstacle course. The only repairs that I've seen lately is one for the truckers near a restaurant, which they are the ones who help tear it up. What about the people who shop here, don't we deserve decent roads and parking lots? Its hardly worth driving a decent car, when you know it's getting ruined.
