It can't be that time again already. But it is - time to start thinking about getting the kids ready to go back to school.
Following is a listing by school corporation of registration, start dates and tuition costs for the 1998-99 school year.
Warsaw Community Schools - Parents may register their children at the school they will attend on the following dates: Aug. 6, elementary schools from noon to 6 p.m. and secondary schools from noon to 7 p.m.; Aug. 7 and Aug. 10, all grades, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Aug. 11, elementary schools, noon to 6 p.m. and secondary schools from noon to 7 p.m.
Kindergarten students must be five years old or older by June 1, 1998; must live within the Warsaw Community School district; and must provide a birth certificate, immunization record and Social Security card at registration.
Textbook rental fees at all schools must be paid by cash or check; no credit cards are accepted.
Book rental rates are: kindergarten, $21; first grade, $81; second grade, $70; third grade, $67; fourth grade, $52; fifth grade, $54; and sixth grade, $58. Rates for middle school and high school will vary with the class schedule.
Classes start in WCS Aug. 19.
Whitko Community Schools - Whitko schools will begin Aug. 18.
Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 6, 10 and 11, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 7. Students new to Whitko schools are asked to register Aug. 10 or 11; returning Whitko High School students are encouraged to register on Aug. 6 and 7.
Textbook rental fees for Whitko schools are: kindergarten, $52; first grade, $81; second grade, $85; third grade, $76; fourth grade, $90; fifth grade, $65; sixth grade, encore project fees, $25, textbooks, $76.13; seventh grade, encore project fees, $30, textbooks, $78.67; eighth grade, encore project fees, $30, textbooks, $79.15.
High school fees are determined by the student's class schedule.
Wawasee Community School Corp. - Registration for Wawasee schools will be from noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 7 and 10, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 11.
Wawasee's first day of school is Aug. 18.
Textbook rental fees are: kindergarten, $42.15; readiness, $69.80; first grade, $94.55; second grade, $82.15; third grade, $99.30; fourth grade, $90.55; fifth grade, $70.20; sixth grade, $83.60; seventh grade, $84.25; and eighth grade, $81.25.
High school textbook rental fees depend on the student's schedule.
Tippecanoe Valley Schools - Registration for Tippecanoe Valley Schools will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10, noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 11, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 for new high school students (not freshmen).
The first day of school in the TV district is Aug. 21.
Textbook rental fees are: kindergarten, $41.80; first grade, $108.70; second grade, $91.60; third grade, $75.90; fourth grade, $77.55; fifth grade, $80.65; sixth grade, $80.70; seventh grade, $77.60; and eighth grade, $67.35.
As with the other school corporations, textbook rental fees for high school students will vary depending on schedules.
Triton Schools - First day of school in Triton schools is Aug. 18.
Registration for all schools will be from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 and 13, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12.
Textbook registration fees are: kindergarten, $52.41; first grade, $123.25; second grade, $101.80; third grade, $85.37; fourth grade, $91.02; fifth grade, $87.71; sixth grade, $94.99.
Middle school and high school textbook rental fees depend on the student's schedule.
