Baby Saved

Editor, Times-Union:

Did you know that on Saturday at the bike festival a baby that was strapped into a stroller was left unattended by its mother and it rolled backwards into the canal?

Allison Schomberger saw the stroller go into the canal, noticed a hand sticking out of the water, and yelled for someone to help. Adam Churchill jumped into the water and pulled the baby out.

According to Allison, the baby had blue lips. The sad part is that neither of them got so much as a thank you from the parents, and as far as they know, that baby was never taken for any medical exam. She saw the baby just wrapped in a blanket.

How sad when these young adults got no credit for saving a helpless infant. I think that some recognition should be given.
