SYRACUSE - Wawasee seniors Ryan Harper and Marcelo Azenha will be competing in the U.S. Swim Junior Champion-ships Thursday and Friday in Blooming-ton on the Indiana University campus.
Azenha will swim in the 200 freestyle on Thursday, while Harper will be in the 100 backstroke on Friday.
The prelims are in the morning of a particular day, and the finals are in the afternoon. The competition is by invitation only and takes a tough time standard to even make the cut. The swimmers are 19 years of age or younger and some of them eventually make the U.S. Olympic team later in their careers.
