PIERCETON - The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County will host a shelter pet adoption event for Kosciusko veterans from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 6.
Adoption fees will be sponsored.
“Our shelter pets are waiting for a home … and veterans could use the unconditional love and support only a pet can give. You can bring them together," said Niki Sedlacek, adoption tech. “Know that you made a difference that will be felt every single day.”
If you would like to donate to help a veteran adoption, visit the Animal Welfare League’s Facebook page at AWLeague or mail a donation to “Veteran Event Donation” to 1048 S. 325 E., Pierceton, IN 46562.
Reduced rates for this event are $50 for dogs, $25 for adult and senior cats and $50 for kittens.
The flag raising will take place at 12:30 p.m. by the Warsaw Community High School JROTC Color Guard.
“Every pet will have all vaccines, spay/neuter and will be microchipped,” said John Lantz, Board president. “We want to partner with the women and men in our community that served in our military, protecting our country. Our great staff will help veterans find a cat or dog that will be a great match for them.”
