AWL Cookbook Fundraiser Planned

Posted
A project to help raise funds for a new building is underway at the Animal Welfare League.  The project is a twist on traditional cookbooks.
According to a press release from the Animal Welfare League, the cookbook,  “Purrfectly Pawsitive Recipes,” will include both human recipes and a section for veterinarian-approved animal recipes and treats for pets.
Local restaurants also are  participating by providing recipes along with some coupons so participants can taste the culinary delights in person at their establishment.
People are invited to share recipes and see their own names in print as the author of the recipe.
The cookbook also will feature a “Super Shortcut” section for wholesome, yet speedy, and easy-to-make meals.
To submit a recipe, go to www.awlwarsaw.com and watch for the menu to pop up. Select “Learn More” on the recipe book page to be taken to a form to fill out. Mail recipes to:  AWL, PO Box 1906. Warsaw, IN 46581; or pick up forms and drop them off in person at the Shelter, 3489 E. 100 South.
“We are hoping for a tremendous response from our friends with your favorite family recipes,” Darla McCammon, AWL executive director, said in the release.
Michelle Becknell, cookbook committee chairperson, is quoted as saying, “This is a great opportunity to help yourself with a popular collection of recipes and help our homeless pets at the same time.”
Once a suitable collection of recipes has been collected the hardcover, spiral binding book will be printed. The books will be sold at many businesses in Warsaw and offered at the shelter as well.
