At the Warsaw Community High School Renaissance Recognition convocation Thursday, awards were given to students for academics, attendance and citizenship. The more-than-90 students who had perfect attendance this school year were eligible to win a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird LE courtesy of Bart's Car Store Inc. The winner was freshman Ryan Wroughton, 15. Handing him the keys was Bart's Car Store partner Ric Moore and WCHS assistant principal Dave Anson. Although Wroughton said he doesn't have his driver's license yet, he is taking driver's education this summer. 'I wasn't expecting it,' he said after winning the car.
Winning computers Thursday at Warsaw Community High School's Renaissance Recognition Convocation were freshman Joshua Folk and junior Liska Shilling. Biomet donated the computers. Folk's and Shilling's names were drawn randomly from all students with 'A' grade point averages. An 'A' GPA is 10.0 or above on a 12-point scale.
