Though the names of the two victims of yesterday’s fatal fire in Milford have yet to be released, Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson is preforming forensic autopsies today in order to positively identify the bodies. Yesterday’s fire broke out around 7:15 a.m. at Medina’s Body Repair, 310 N. Higbee St., Milford. Milford Fire Chief Todd Haines said the cause of the blaze and where it initially started in the shop are still under investigation, though it is believed the fire started in one of the bay areas on the lower level. There is an upstairs sleeping quarters in the building, but Haines said the fire took two hours to bring under control and allow emergency personnel to enter the apartment area. The location of where the two victims were found has not been confirmed. Haines said the property is a total loss and the roof over the body shop had completely collapsed. There were several vehicles inside the body shop that were totally destroyed. Haines said Milford Fire Department was assisted by Leesburg, Syracuse, New Paris and Nappanee fire departments.
