Carl Anderson, author of books ‘How’s It Going: A Practical Guide to Conferring with Student Writers’ and ‘Assessing Writers’, came to Kathy Garber’s third-grade classroom at Pierceton Elementary.
Anderson, a literacy consultant from Columbia University, works with teachers in the area of writing. He provided a workshop for teachers here in Indiana and he chose Garber’s classroom.
While teachers from area schools watched, Anderson taught a writing lesson and then conferred with individual students in the class Nov. 3.
