Meghan Hand, children's librarian and author from South Whitley Public Library, inspired Pierceton Elementary first-graders in Mrs. Boggs' and Mrs. Potts' classrooms Sept. 1. Hand read two books to the classes. The books gave the children information about the elements of a story. She also helped them brainstorm for ideas with their own writing. The children participated in a fun activity where they found ideas around the classroom and then began writing about them.
