MENTONE – Author Doris Aldrich Smith will hold a book signing May 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at Java Jack’s Coffee Shop and Pages Aplenty Bookstore, 109 E. Main St., Mentone. Smith, a former pastor of Mentone United Methodist Church and a resident of Monticello, will be available to sign copies of her books, Road Trip Trio and Pastor Ellen. Kathleen Keller, a retired clergywoman, goes on a yearly road trip with two friends. They take off for Sarasota, Fla., in Lucille's silver Lexus. How does the trip to Florida end up in Texas going by private jet? Find out as you laugh and cry along with these three fun-loving friends. Pastor Ellen Thackery, pastor at Brookside United Methodist Church in Indiana, is an unusual clergywoman. She gets into more precarious situations than 10 other pastors ever could.
