Austin James Grindle, Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly at 2:56 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, at the age of 23.

He was born Oct. 16, 1994, in Warsaw, to Heather Howard Sand and James Grindle.

Austin was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he completed high school in 2013. He worked at Keystone RV Co., Middlebury. He lived a short but full life, and will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family and many friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Heather Sand, and his stepfather, Brian Sand, Leesburg; father, James Grindle, Del Ray Beach, Fla.; four sisters: Adrian R. Grindle, Warsaw; Alyson N. Grindle, Leesburg; Addison G. Sand, Leesburg; and Chloe L. Plank, Leola, Pa. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Linda and Brian Fuller, Warsaw; paternal grandparents, Wilburta J. and Steve Banghart, Warsaw; maternal stepgrandmother, Ann M. Howard, Larwill; and his paternal stepgrandmother, Lisa S. Sand, Leesburg.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald R. Howard, and his paternal grandfather, Robert E. Grindle.

Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.

His funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by Dr. Ronald E. Manahan.
