ALBION – Black Pine Animal Sanctuary has four fundraising events in August for all ages to enjoy.
• Friday, Aug. 4, 5 to 8 p.m. - Hot Summer Nights: Harry Potter Night. Special pricing for the event will be $10 for all ages. Enjoy dinner at the picnic pavilion from Monterrico’s Food Truck. Activities include wand making and the sorting hat. Keepers will have special enrichment for the animals.
• Tuesday, Aug. 15 - Tigerloins for a Prince. One10 West Main Street (110 W. Main St., Albion) will be serving “Tigerloins,” also known as a tenderloin, all day with 50% of sales going toward surgical costs for the white Bengal tiger, Prince. Prince is blind due to a detached retina and cataracts. But surgery can fix both issues and Prince will be able to see again.
• Tuesday, Aug. 22 - Dine & Donate at Wings Etc. in Columbia City. From open to close, 15% of sales, not including alcohol, will be donated to Black Pine Animal Sanctuary. This is only at the Wings Etc., 496 W. Plaza Drive, Columbia City. An event flyer must be presented when ordering. Flyer and QR Code are available at www.bpsanctuary.org/events.
• Friday, Aug. 25, 5 to 8 p.m. - Hot Summer Nights: Lilo’s Luau. Special pricing for the event will be $10 for all ages. Enjoy dinner at the picnic pavilion from The Twisted Tiki Food Truck. Activities include a pardon to Pixie the Vietnamese Pot Belly Pig, special enrichment for the animals and leis for all. This is the last Hot Summer Night of the season.
Also upcoming is our Premier Event of 2023, Lions, Tigers, & Beer, presented by Pulver Asphalt & Paving and Luke Funk Wealth Management, Sept. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, 1426 W. 300N, Albion. Guests will enjoy craft beer sampling, live music from Adam Strack, dining and a silent auction. This event is annually a sellout.
