SOUTH WHITLEY - Audrey I. Barker, 84, of South Whitley, died at 1:25 p.m. Feb. 7, 2011, in Peabody Home, North Manchester, where she had been a resident since November 2009.
She was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Collamer, to Reed and Ida Irene Ribett Brower. On May 6, 1944, she married Lester Lewis Barker, who died June 4, 1994.
She graduated from South Whitley High School and was a member of First Baptist Church, South Whitley.
Surviving are six children: Diane Prescott, Jacksonville, Fla.; Raymond (and spouse Virginia) Barker, Syracuse; Sandra Byrd, Churubusco; Patricia (and spouse James) Schneider, North Manchester; Lester (and spouse Cindy) Barker, South Whitley; and Kevin (and spouse Renee) Barker, Pierceton; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Leola Williamson, South Whitley; and a brother, Harold Brower, Columbia City. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
