A Portage man suffered head and facial injuries Sunday when he was thrown from the all-terrain vehicle he was operating on private property near Warsaw.
Roy Adkinson, 22, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, for treatment of severe cuts, according to a Department of Natural Resources report.
Adkinson was riding the ATV in a wooded area behind a residence in the 700 block of South Zimmer Road when he apparently accelerated too fast, hit a stump and veered into a tree.
The accident occurred about 1:45 p.m.
