A 13-year-old Fort Wayne boy was killed Tuesday after his four-wheeler slid into the path of a tractor-trailer on Old Road 30, near Atwood.
Brandon Sutton was northbound when he apparently failed to stop at the intersection of CR 525W and Old Road 30, driving the four-wheeler directly into the tractor-trailer's path.
Sutton was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the accident. According to Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine, Sutton was not wearing a helmet.
The boy reportedly was in the Atwood area visiting his father.
The semi-driver was John Hoyt, 37, Walkerton. He suffered no injuries.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Indiana State Police, Multi-Township EMS, Kosciusko County Coroner's Office, Atwood Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources.
