Attorney: Chapter 11 Won't Affect Personnel Decisions

Posted
Any personnel moves by Dalton Foundries won't be because of Chapter 11 proceedings currently taking place, according to an attorney with Dalton's parent company.

According to Greg Gill Sr., an attorney with Neenah Enterprises, "Any decision regarding the workforce would be made independent (of Chapter 11 proceedings)."Neenah Enterprises, the parent company of Dalton Foundries, announced Feb. 3 that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in US Bankruptcy court in Delaware.

Two days later, a newspaper report out of Wisconsin stated Neenah Enterprises home facility in Neenah, Wisc., wouldn't see layoffs.

That same assurance hasn't been publicly given to workers at Dalton Foundries, which has been in Warsaw since 1910.

Gill Sr. said that Chapter 11 proceedings with Neenah and Dalton and any workforce decision, be they hirings or firings, would be "totally unrelated."

Gill Sr. also said that those decisions would be made by Dalton's management and not at the corporate level in Wisconsin.

A representative from Dalton Foundries declined comment Tuesday morning.

According to Dalton's Web site, Neenah Enterprises purchased the Warsaw company in 1998.
