Police officers from four agencies were on hand Monday to arrest a man wanted for attempted murder in Kentucky.

Donald Craig Nelson, 17, was arrested at an apartment on South Buffalo Street, Warsaw, on several warrants from Pikesville, Ky.

A detective at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said he received a CrimeStopper tip that Nelson was at the Buffalo Street apartment.

Warsaw city police said 15 police officers arrived at the scene to help arrest Nelson. It is reported that police believed Nelson was possibly armed with a stolen shotgun.

When police arrived at the apartment, one officer reported he saw Nelson look out through the open front door and then slam the door shut.

According to police, the tenant of the apartment then reopened the door and told police Nelson ran out the back door.

Nelson was taken into custody as he allegedly tried to escape through the back door.

Nelson was taken to Kosciusko County Jail, but will be detained at the South Bend juvenile facility until he is taken back to Kentucky.

Nelson is wanted on warrants for robbery of a residence with a weapon, two counts of robbery with a knife, two counts of unlawful imprisonment and assault.

Assisting the Warsaw Police Department were the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police and Winona Lake Police Department.
