AT&T* recently announced the availability of its mobile broadband network in Warsaw, extending access for advanced mobile services, devices and feature-rich audio and video content to customers in the area.
The activation of mobile broadband technology on four cell sites will enhance wireless coverage for residents and businesses in Warsaw and in Kosciusko County.
The network also has been enhanced along major roadways in the area, including U.S. 30 and Ind. 15.
“Kosciusko County is already a great place to live, work and raise a family, and enhanced wireless coverage makes it better,” said State Representative Dave Wolkins. “This is great news for any person who uses a wireless device to keep in touch with friends and family or stay connected to the office.”
AT&T is an industry leader in delivering the benefits of mobile broadband networks, devices and applications.
With the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network, AT&T provides accelerated mobile data speeds and simultaneous voice and data capabilities for an amazing wireless voice and data experience.
“Kosciusko County is the home of companies who rely on enhanced wireless access to do business around the world,” said Warsaw Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce President Mark Dobson. “Thanks to the leadership of Rep. Wolkins and his colleagues in the General Assembly, along with AT&T’s continued investment in northern Indiana, businesses in Warsaw are better able to compete in a global economy.”
“Demand for wireless bandwidth is growing rapidly, whether it’s for sharing video and photos with friends, watching a movie, checking the latest scores, or listening to music on a phone, netbook or other on-the-go devices,” Brian Ducharme, vice president and general manager for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets in Indiana. “With this expansion, our customers can enjoy the nation’s best, most advanced mobile broadband experience with emerging devices and tens of thousands of mobile applications.”
This network improvement is another example of the investment AT&T has made in Indiana. AT&T invested nearly $925 million in its Indiana wireless and wireline networks from 2008 through 2010.
“AT&T is committed to investing in providing the best wireless experience possible for our customers,” said George S. Fleetwood, president, AT&T Indiana. “By expanding the availability of our mobile broadband network in Kosciusko County, we are able to ensure that our customers have access to the high speed service upon which they depend.”
AT&T’s mobile broadband network is based on the 3rd Generation Partnership Project family of technologies that includes GSM and UMTS, the most widely used wireless network platforms in the world. AT&T has the best international coverage of any U.S. wireless provider, providing access to voice service in more than 220 countries and data service in more than 200 countries.
AT&T also offers voice and data roaming coverage on more than 140 major cruise ships, as well as mobile broadband services in more than 125 countries.
AT&T also operates the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network with more than 23,000 hotspots in the U.S. and provides access to more than 125,000 hotspots globally through roaming agreements.
Most AT&T smartphone customers get access to our entire national Wi-Fi network at no additional cost, and Wi-Fi usage doesn’t count against customers’ monthly data plans.
