Ascencion Cervantes, 70, of 2131 N. Fox Farm Road, Warsaw, died Jan. 22, 2010, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
He was born May 2, 1939, in Guanajuato, Mexico, to Jose and Marina Vega Cervantes. On Feb. 5, 1964, he married Maria Lopez, who survives.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 45 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Warsaw.
Also surviving are three daughters: Rosalba (and spouse Abraham) Gordillo, Monica (and spouse Armando) Sanchez and Maria Cervantes, all of Warsaw; two sons: Roberto (and spouse Ines) Cervantes and Ruben (and spouse Maritza) Cervantes, all of Warsaw; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Benito (and spouse Maria) Cruz, Milford; and a sister, Ana Maria Paredes, Winona Lake. He was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 225 Gilliam Drive, Warsaw, with Father Phillip DeVolder officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
