As The World Turns

Editor, Times-Union:

I am responding to the letter to the editor in Tuesday's paper.

I must say this is my first time writing a letter to the editor, but I read about how Loren Bailey's life was ruin when she was awaken by an Amber Alert and how upsetting it was for her to be awaken by the alert that (was not her problem).

How sad has it become when a child is missing and people think it's not their problem. I wonder how she would have felt if it was her child that was missing (if she even has any), and wanted help finding her child, and people told her it was not their problem (and please don't wake me up because your child is missing).

Children come up missing everyday. Some are the faults of the parents, most are not. There are a lot of sick people out there who will harm them, and if being awaken in middle of the night helps save a child's life, then I am all for it.

Loren, did you even think of what that poor mother was going though, hoping someone out there saw something to help locate her child?

W, as a people, need to help in any way shape or form to stopping these sick people from harming our children. I think the Amber Alert is a great idea and tool to stopping these sick people. I have children and, if one of them was missing, I wouldn't' care who I woke up if it would help me find them. So, Loren, I am sorry you found out the world does not revolve around you. And if you would need help from someone in the middle of the night, I hope you remember not to wake anyone.
