AKRON – The Akron Area Arts League is sponsoring several free events during the Fourth of July weekend.
First, the Sixth Annual Judged Art Show is open from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the air-conditioned Akron Community Center, located just east of the Pike Memorial Park, where you will find food, fun for kids and live music.
On Monday, the art show will continue from 5 to 9 p.m. and, second, just across the hall the Swampwater Stompers will be playing Ragtime music from 6 to 8 p.m. The Nightshift Band will start playing classic rock at 8 p.m. out on the midway.
And third, Tuesday, the art show will be open from noon to 8 p.m. with the awards reception at 7 p.m.
