Artie Junior Long, 78, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:15 a.m. July 7, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Oswego, to Artie Drew and Florence Ryan Long. In 1960, in Joliet, Ill., he married Mary Catherine Wayne, who died in 1996.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he worked at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. as a cylinder maker, retiring in 1990. He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1951, then he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951-55. He was a former member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster. He enjoyed fishing, wood working and crafting and he was a good father.
Surviving are three children, Jack (and spouse Dee) Long, Kim (and spouse Craig) Long Clark and Rose Long, all of Warsaw; five grandchildren: Jack A. and Rachel Long; Whitney and Curtis Clark; and Gage Vervaet; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Camron Morris; two sisters, Lutie Beatty, Milford, and Bertie Lentz, South Bend.
No services or calling are planned. Burial will be at a later date.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
