WABASH - The Honeywell Foundation Inc. - in cooperation with corporate sponsor B & I Agencies Co. and Best of Show sponsor Wabash County Arts Council - is gearing up for its 15th annual Nine County Art Show next month and is in search of participants.
Artists in Cass, Fulton, Grant, Howard, Huntington, Kosciusko, Miami, Wabash and Whitley counties are encouraged to submit their work for possible exhibition in the Honeywell Center's Clark Gallery Feb. 12 through March 6.
"This is a time to draw attention to the extraordinary talent of our regional residents," said Andrea Zwiebel, gallery coordinator for the Honeywell Center. "In previous years, the categories were limited. However, this year, additional forms of artwork will be accepted."
The show's entry guidelines include:
An artist may enter no more than three pieces.
Each entry must have a frame and a hanger.
Artwork must be original.
Works that have previously been entered in the show may not be entered again.
Artists are responsible for obtaining releases from subjects in portraits.
Crafts and photographs may not be entered.
All artwork should be submitted between noon and 4 p.m. Feb. 8 or Feb. 9 to the Honeywell Center, 275 W. Market St., Wabash.
An entry form also will need to be completed and submitted then, and can be found online at www.honeywellcenter.org/ClarkGallery.html or in the Center's box office. Late entries will not be accepted.
The art will be judged after 4 p.m. Feb. 9. The judges will then decide which pieces will be accepted for display.
The Nine County Art Show will require a $15 entry free regardless of the number of pieces submitted. Refunds will not be made if the artwork is not selected for display in the Clark Gallery.
"The show offers several categories and prizes, including a Best of Show award and first through third cash prizes for paintings, drawings and other art forms, such as textile, sculpture and printmaking," Zwiebel said.
The Clark Gallery is open to the public every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Artwork on display may be purchased through the box office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Center is closed on all major holidays.
