Debra Collier’s School of Dance announced the kickoff of its newest class, “Art of Praise.” “This liturgical-style class will combine the art of dance with the heart of praise,” said program creator Tammy Seibold. “The class will focus on how the students use dance to express themselves and convey the meaning of the contemporary Christian music we will be using.” The class will incorporate various styles of dance using praise and worship music from such artists as Matthew West, Chris Tomlin, NewWorldSon and many others. “It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to use my passion for dance in this way,” Seibold said. “Our studio is about developing students as people, not just dancers, and this class will do just that. It will provide students with a way to have an outward expression of deep thoughts and emotions, and to display a visual message of joy.” The class will be offered Mondays from 8 to 8:45 p.m. beginning in September and is open to students ages 8 and up. Registration is currently open for the studio’s annual classes.
