Art Fair Awards Announced

PIERCETON - Two of the Pierceton Art Fair organizers, Lila O'Connell and David Taylor, were pleased with the turnout for the first annual event.

Artists pitched tents and canopies in Brower Park July 23.

Winning purchase awards were Megan King, $50 from Mr. and Mrs. David Taylor; Kay DuBois, $260 from Himes and Krull Associates; Sean Hoffman, $85 from Joanne Kolbe; Braxton Eikenberry, $135 from Blue Lion Coffeehouse and $135 from Blue Pearl Antiques; David Taylor, $75 from Brittany Meeks.

Robert A. Hudson won the Best of Show award. Several merit awards were presented in the professional and non-professional categories: Professional - Braxton Eikenberry, first; Sean Hoffman, second; David and Sandy Key, third; Erik Vasteen, fourth; and Bonnie Gore, fifth.

Non-professional awards went to Denise Holt, first; Scott James, second; Robin Mitchell, third; Brett Bailey, fourth; and Kay DuBois, fifth.

Judges were Cinda Culver of North Webster and Bloomington and Karen Klimpert, Warsaw.

Ned and Alma Freeman, owners of The Village Antique Gallerie, presented awards for two Whitko-area-connected artists, Douglas Walls and Scott James.
