Three people arrested Tuesday afternoon are not suspects in a robbery that took place in Warsaw.
According to police reports, at 3:40 p.m. a woman reported that her purse with medication inside was stolen by three males wearing hooded sweatshirts, one Hispanic and two white, in an alley near the 900 block of Sheridan Street in Warsaw.Also at 3:40 p.m., Warsaw Police Department patrolman pulled over three people fitting the description of the robbers in a car near Oakwood Cemetery.
David Lee Goad, 18, Winona Lake, and Andy Serrano Gonzalez, 18, Warsaw, were arrested on charges not related to the robbery at that time. While police originally suspected the three may have been involved in the robbery, they are not now considered suspects.
"At this time, they are not suspected in terms of the robbery," said Warsaw Police Department detective Joe Hawn, who is investigating the robbery.
When confronted with the description of the three arrested, the victim didn't believe it matched her description.
Goad was charged with maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia, while Gonzalez was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
A juvenile also was arrested and released to his parents.
