The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force made a significant arrest Thursday when they served a warrant on a Warsaw man at 2045 E. Riverside Drive.
Police found approximately 30 pounds of a substance believed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the residence of Hector Martinez.
Martinez was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over 10 pounds, a Class C felony, and on a LaGrange County warrant for nonsupport of a dependent child.
According to a press release, the task force believes this arrest is related to a string of April drug arrests and "will put a large dent in the movement of marijuana in Kosciusko County."
A task force officer said the amount of marijuana confiscated since April amounts to about 150 pounds, a significant quantity off county streets.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Warsaw Police Detective Bureau and the Bureau of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement assisted in the arrest.
