Police have arrested an Illinois man in connection with the fatal stabbing Monday night.
Derrick Wandrick, 23, Harvey, Ill., was booked into Kosciusko County Jail at 4:13 p.m. Wednesday.
David Strowder, 21, Elkhart, was found Monday around 9 p.m. on the side of the road near CR 300N with multiple stab wounds. Police responded to the scene and transported him to Kosciusko Community Hospital where he died.
Police followed leads from the public and were assisted by Elkhart police detectives on the case, which led to Wandrick’s arrest.
Capt. Chris McKeand, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, declined to comment further on the case this morning.
Wandrick is being held without bond on charges related to the death of Strowder. Wandrick will be formally charged in the next 48 hours, according to a news release from the KCSD.
