Arrest Made In Nappanee Shooting

NAPPANEE - An arrest has been made in a Sept. 19 shooting that occurred in Nappanee.

According to the Nappanee Police Department, Bobby James Ragsdale, 21, of 20119 CR 19, Goshen, was arrested on a warrant issued Friday. He faces charges of attempted murder and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and is being held in the Elkhart County Correctional Facility on a bond of $150,000.On Sept. 19, Ragsdale reportedly was involved in a shooting incident at Northside Manor Apartments in Nappanee which sent two people to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Stacy W. Wise, 39, Elkhart. was shot in the chest during the incident at 1200 N. Main St., Nappanee.

The second victim was Anthony R. Hirsch, 19, Goshen, who suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.

Both men were treated at Elkhart General Hospital.

On Sept. 19, police were called to the residence after receiving a report of shots fired and a person injured.

After arriving at the scene, police learned that both gunshot victims were taken to the hospital, and two other people reportedly left the scene on foot. Ragsdale allegedly was found in a ditch bank with the help of K-9 officers and taken to the Nappanee Police Department for questioning.

Police say victims and witnesses hindered the investigation of the incident by not cooperating.

Ragsdale was taken into custody by Nappanee police officers Friday afternoon without incident during a traffic stop on CR 7, Nappanee.
