LIGONIER - Arnold R. Weimer, 70, of Ligonier, died at 3:36 p.m. July 25, 2009, in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, of natural causes.
He was born Oct. 21, 1938, in Noble County, to Lennel and Hazel Hunter Weimer. On Nov. 24, 1956, he married Darlene M. Beard, who died Aug. 22, 1997.
A lifetime area resident, he was a water softener serviceman and farmed for several years. He was a member of Cromwell United Methodist Church.
Survivors are six children: Brad Weimer, Springcreek, Nev.; Sally Hammond, Warsaw; Perry Weimer, Wilmot; Ginger (and spouse Orlando) Fernandez, Fort Wayne; Wes (and spouse Melissa) Weimer, Cromwell; and Michael (and spouse April) Weimer, Ligonier; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister: Norma (and spouse Leonard) Mauzy, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruby Weimer; two brothers, Lennel "Pat" and John Weimer; and a great-granddaughter, Marissa Squadrito.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Stones Hill Community Church, Ligonier. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Wilmot.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S., Ligonier.
