Arlene Valentine, 84, Pierceton, passed away at 9:30 p.m. June 10, 2018, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

She was born Jan. 24, 1934, in Kosciusko County, to Asher and Grace Leota Lepley Carper. On Feb. 3, 1951, in Warsaw, she was united in marriage to Leroy E. Valentine, who preceded her in death.

A lifetime Pierceton resident, she worked as a dispatcher for the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department from 1982 until her retirement. She had previously been a volunteer for Pierceton EMS and was a past board member of the Pierceton Town Board. She was a former member of the Kosciusko County F.O.P. Lodge 149 and attended North Winona Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her daughters: Margaret Ward, Churubusco; Janet (spouse Tim) Meloy, Pierceton; and Leslie Valentine, Warsaw; and her son, Terrance (spouse Penny) Valentine, Warsaw. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Curtis, Warsaw; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded by her husband, four brothers and one sister.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8  p.m. Wednesday, June 13, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, in the Warsaw Funeral Chapel, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
