I want to know one thing. Why do people think it's necessary to spread their religious beliefs like they get paid to do so? It's disrespectful to shove your beliefs down someone else's throat, let alone preaching in an editorial section of the newspaper.
Growing up in this community, I am well aware of how conservative the majority of the residents are. I, however, am not, and it's absolutely disgusting to me how much people care about religion here. I am in no way putting down anyone's beliefs or saying that they shouldn't believe them, but keep them to yourself.
If you preach to someone, you're judging them based on what they believe. You're saying that their ideals are inadequate and you must try to correct them. I thought a major part of Jesus's ideology was not to judge or make assumptions?
So to sum up what I believe, keep your opinions to yourself, go to church like you normally do, pray and worship in your home and chapel, but leave it out of the paper.
Religion should be kept private, not publicized like a contest.
