INDIANAPOLIS - The towns of Akron and North Manchester received grant approval recently from Indiana's Community Planning Fund program.
Akron will receive $5,500 for an engineering study of the town's combined storm water and sewer system. The study also will recommend alternatives to the present system.
North Manchester will receive $8,000, which it will use to create a plan for developing a community trail system.
The planning process for the trail system is scheduled to begin immediately and be completed by July.
The CPF program is administered by the Indiana Department of Commerce and helps local economies become more competitive.
