INDIANAPOLIS - After strong Friday performances, several area boys advanced to today's state swim meet finals at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Warsaw's Nate Taylor advanced to the final heat of the state meet in three events. Taylor's times of 1:55.58 in the 200-yard individual medley and 57.78 in the 100 breaststroke allowed him to move on in those individual events.
Taylor was also a member of the Tiger 400-yard freestyle relay team that advanced to the state finals along with Nate Long, Thad Wallin and Steven Lowrance. Their combined time of 3:17.78 put them in the first heat of the finals.
Wawasee's Jordan Rantz moved on individually as well. His time of 1:00.17 in the 100 breaststroke put the Warrior in the first heat of the finals today.
Rantz, Steve Dingeldein, Brian Doty and Brook Singrey joined forces to swim a 1:30.31 in the 200 freestyle relay. That time put them in the second alternate spot in today's event.
Warsaw's Will Kretsch will compete in the diving state finals beginning at 9 a.m. today. Swim finals begin at 1 p.m.
