Mentone Youth League Registration Dates Announced
MENTONE – Registration dates for the Mentone Youth League have been scheduled for the 2017 season.
Players can be registered from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m. - noon Saturday, and 3-8 p.m. Monday. All registration sessions will be at the Bell Memorial Library in Mentone.
The cost is $35 per T-ball player, $45 per player in other leagues, with a maximum cost of $110 per family. The fundraiser buy-out is $25 per player or $40 per family.

Whitko FB Fundraiser Saturday
SOUTH WHITLEY – The eighth annual Whitko Football Pulled Pork Dinner is scheduled for 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday in the high school commons, before the boys basketball game with Manchester.
The menu includes pulled pork and chicken, homemade baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, chips and dessert. Supporters can dine-in or carry-out. All the proceeds collected from this free will donation dinner will go directly to the football team to help purchase safety equipment such as helmets and shoulder pads

Manchester HOF Induction Feb. 17
NORTH MANCHESTER – The 2017 Manchester Athletic Hall of Fame will hold its induction ceremony Feb. 17 at halftime of the boys varsity basketball game against Columbia City.
Five people comprise the class of 2017. Cris Brandenburg from boys basketball, David Cable and Bryant Wiley from boys tennis, Brady Miller from football and Larry J. Miller as an athletic contributor will be inducted.
The game will start at 7:45 p.m., following the junior varsity contest.

Young Tigers Hosting Clinics
Warsaw Young Tigers will be hosting football skill clinics on Saturdays between Feb. 18-March 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Baker Youth Club, 1401 E. Smith St. in Warsaw.
The clinics will be led by USA Football “Heads Up”-certified coaches, and the non-contact drills will focus on athletic developement and football fundamentals.
Registration for the free clinics opens at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 18. Participants need to be ages 6-12. The organization will be accepting signups for the fall 2017 season at the clinics.

Triton HOF Banquet Feb. 18
BOURBON – Tickets for the Triton Athletic Department Hall of Fame Banquet are on sale at the high school office. Tickets are $25 each, include a catered meal at the Back 40, and need to be ordered by the end of the business day Friday.

Valley GBB Regional Tickets Available Wednesday
AKRON – All-Tournament tickets for Tippecanoe Valley’s appearance in the Class 3A girls basketball regional in Columbia City will be available at the school’s athletic office.
The all-session tickets for Saturday’s tournament are $10 each and will be sold from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Single-game tickets for $6 each will be available at the door on Saturday.

Dunes Volleyball Holding Skills Clinics On Saturdays
ROLLING PRAIRIE – The Dunes Volleyball club will host volleyball skills clinics on Saturdays beginning this weekend through March 4.
The clinics will teach the basics of volleyball as well as speed and agility, hand-eye development, teamwork and lifelong athletic skills. The program has five age groups for boys and girls, ranging from age 3 through eighth grade.

Tiger Game Time Changed
Saturday’s Merrillville at Warsaw boys basketball game has been moved to a 3 p.m. junior varsity tipoff, with the varsity game to follow.
The change was made to accommodate a scheduling conflict with Merrillville’s girls team and its appearance in regional play.
