Area Athletic Events Postponed By Weather

For the second Friday in a row, severe weather problems have forced local high schools to postpone basketball games.

The NorthWood at Warsaw, Tippecanoe Valley at Northfield, Fort Wayne Dwenger at Whitko, Northridge at Wawasee and Triton at Bethany Christian junior varsity/varsity boys' basketball games scheduled for this evening have been postponed.

Only three of those games had been rescheduled as of 11 a.m. today. Northridge will play at Wawasee on Jan. 18 with a 6:15 p.m. junior varsity start time. NorthWood will play at Warsaw on Feb. 12, and that will also have a 6:15 p.m. junior varsity start time, and Triton is at Bethany Christian Feb. 18 at 6:15 p.m.

One local game is still on - North Miami plays at Manchester. The junior varsity start time has been moved up to 6 p.m., and that game will be followed by the varsity game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

No Saturday athletic events had been postponed as of Friday morning.
